Brussel Sprouts

Let's just talk about brussel sprouts for a minute. These delightful little guys get quite the bad wrap. I have decided that it is all in it's name. What kind of kid wants to eat something called a brussel sprout. I mean, come on! But, they are delicious! They have the most perfect crunchy yet soft, buttery texture. Ooh wee- I just LOVE them! My daughter doesn't like them. While I was cooking them, she didn't even want me to say the name, brussel sprout. When dinner came, she insisted that she only needed to eat corn. After telling her that it was just a mini cabbage made for her American Girl doll, things changed a bit.  She ate an entire little brussel sprout without even complaining. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it. She has committed to eating 1 and a HALF next time! Now, I think that it's time to start a campaign to name this misrepresented vegetable something more desirable. Any ideas???

How I cook my brussel sprouts
  1. Wash your brussel sprouts and cut off the ends.
  2. Boil some salted water
  3. Once water reaches a boil, add the brussel sprouts
  4. Cover pot with a lid and cook for about 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
